The Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems at IIT Guwahati embodies a research–development–practice paradigm aimed at enriching education with traditional Indian knowledge while emphasizing environmental sustainability and systemic scientific inquiry. Its mission is to cultivate new knowledge and capacities rooted in India’s ancestral wisdom. Short-term courses are planned in areas like Sanskrit, Yoga, Classical Music, Vedic Mathematics, Indian Astronomy, Philosophy, and more. The center will also offer interdisciplinary PhD programs, explicitly targeting the fusion of ancient and modern knowledge.
